A new logo for Perry County Public Library

Perry County Public Library logo

We recently developed a new logo for the Perry County Public Library in Indiana, which has locations in Tell City and Cannelton, and operates a Bookmobile that serves the whole community of Perry County.

The library provides numerous services including computer labs, Wi-Fi, children’s story times, and meeting rooms.

The logo features the sun rising above an open book, representing the opportunity to achieve that comes from reading. The sun motif and color palette stem from the library’s bookmobile design.

In addition, the blue book and pages in the design pay tribute to the Ohio River, which runs along the southern edge of Perry County, and on whose banks sit Tell City and Cannelton.

The overall shape of the badge was inspired by the arched entryway of the old Carnegie Library on 9th Street in Tell City.
