New site for Daniel Pitino Shelter launched

Red Pixel Studios recently designed, developed and launched a new website for the Daniel Pitino Shelter, the winner of the Red Pixel Studios Sweet 16 Award.

The Red Pixel Studios Sweet 16 Award was created to thank the Owensboro region for supporting our business for 16 years. The Sweet 16 Award bestowed a free website to an area non-profit organization. We invited the community to choose the organization by voting at our Facebook page over three rounds. Voters ultimately selected the Daniel Pitino Shelter to receive the award.

The Daniel Pitino Shelter is a non-profit, non-denominational, privately-supported organization which offers both emergency and transitional housing, provides nutritional food to the homeless in our community. In addition, the Pitino Shelter provides educational enhancement – including life skills, legal aid sources, and computer training – within the same building.

“It was really gratifying to work with the Daniel Pitino Shelter and learn more about their organization as we developed their new website,” said Jason Kyle, vice president of Red Pixel Studios. “The dedication they have to the people in our community who need help in a trying time is inspiring. We are all happy to contribute our work to help with their mission.”

The new website provides the means for the Daniel Pitino Shelter to better deliver their message, explaining not just their mission but also providing education to dispel the myths of homelessness and  help people understand its causes. The site also offers a way for people interested in helping to sign up to volunteer their time or to contribute financially with one-time or recurring gifts. People can also read about the success people have had as a result of the shelter’s efforts.
