New website, logo reflect the mission of McCreary County Public Library

We recently completed a new WordPress website for McCreary County Public Library, along with a new logo designed to reflect the wide range of services, resources, and opportunities the library provides to its community.

The previous website made it challenging to clearly organize information and keep patrons informed as offerings evolved. Sharing timely updates, promoting events, and helping users discover available resources required a more flexible and intuitive approach.

The new website was designed to support regular communication with patrons through news posts and updates, while also making it easy to explore library services, resources, and events. Improved navigation and clear page layouts help visitors quickly find what they are looking for, and the site is fully responsive to provide a consistent, user-friendly experience across all devices. Built on WordPress, the site allows library staff to keep content current without technical barriers.

In addition to the website, we designed a new logo centered on an open book icon. The left page represents technology and searching or research, while the right page reflects creativity and connection to the past, featuring a tree symbolizing ancestry and a pencil-based picket fence representing creativity and learning. Together, these elements express the library’s role as a place for discovery, imagination, and lifelong learning.

Accessibility was a key consideration throughout the project, both in the website’s structure and visual design. As with all of our work, the site was created to be affordable, sustainable, and easy to maintain over time.
