Baptist Health Madisonville has launched My Baptist Baby, a new, free application for the iPhone. Designed for women before, during and after pregnancy, the app is available immediately for download from the App Store and can be installed on any generation iPhone or iPod touch.
The colorful app created for Baptist Health Women’s Care includes preconception information for women thinking about having a baby, information for pregnant women, and useful material for moms after the baby is born.
Information includes:
- Week-by-week education on the development of the baby.
- Answers to frequently asked questions, such as safe medications during pregnancy, dealing with discomforts and signs of labor.
- Advice on breastfeeding and postpartum depression.
Users can receive push notifications for appointment reminders and keep track of questions for their providers through a journal.
The app also includes information about giving birth at Baptist Health, including visitation policies and details on Kangaroo Care. Users do not have to be patients of Baptist Health Women’s Care to use the app.
“Many women today use their iPhones as a primary source of information, including health-related topics,” said Baptist Health Women’s Care Manager LeAnn Langston. “We wanted to give moms a go-to resource to quickly answer questions and learn what to expect throughout their pregnancy.”
The app was designed and developed by Red Pixel Studios, a long-time partner of Baptist Health on effective Web solutions for patients and online visitors.
“We are excited for the opportunity to combine the women’s health expertise of Baptist Health with the technology of the iPhone to deliver an app that provides valuable information and modern convenience,” said Jason Kyle, vice president, Red Pixel Studios. “The app is a tremendous tool for helping today’s women through a healthy, happy pregnancy.”
