Take a fascinating tour of public art on display in Frankfort

Red Pixel Studios worked with the Frankfort / Franklin County Tourist and Convention Commission to develop the Frankfort Public Art Tour, a feature to showcase the wealth of public art in the community. The Frankfort Public Art Tour is found on the commission’s website at visitfrankfort.com/art.

The Frankfort Public Art Tour can be used as a guide to experience the artwork in person, or can serve as a “virtual tour” to discover the numerous creative expressions on display in Kentucky’s capital city.

The tour features works of art ranging from the 18th century to today and presents them in three categories: sculpture, murals, and architecture. In addition, users can browse the works by location – either within Downtown Frankfort or in the Greater Frankfort area – and can scout each piece through a map of Frankfort filled with markers.

Each work has a dedicated page with a slideshow gallery of images as well as fascinating details about the history, artist, subject, or meaning of the object at hand.

Frankfort is a community with a rich artistic history and diverse cultural heritage. The Frankfort Public Art Tour invites you to explore its historic architecture, its stained-glass windows, its murals and sculptures, and ultimately its people.
