We developed a new website for the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art to help the arts organization improve patron engagement. In addition we designed a new logo for the museum.
The art museum’s previous website was crowded and cluttered, making it difficult to find information. We focused on creating a logical site structure to make it easier for visitors to find information about the museum’s collections, exhibitions, events and educational offerings.
Special attention was given to the exhibitions section to enable the museum to not only raise awareness of current and upcoming events but to highlight important past exhibitions that the museum has hosted.
We created a unique home page with emphasis on imagery to enable the museum to highlight its exhibitions of the visual arts.
In addition, we designed a new logo for the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, modernizing the museum’s identity from the previous script wordmark, providing a symbol that can be used with more flexibility in various applications. The OMFA logo uses negative space to define the lettering, with jewel tones of red, blue, and gold creating the outlines, evoking the stained glass windows that are a key part of the museum’s permanent collection.
