Hopkins County Tourist & Convention Commission wins Traverse Awards

The Hopkins County Tourist & Convention Commission won two awards in the 2013 Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing competition.
The tourism group won first place in the Visitors Guide category for their fold-out brochure, with a cover designed by Red Pixel Studios, and second place in the New Website category for the mobile website at visitmadisonvilleky.com, designed and developed by Red Pixel Studios.
The Hopkins County Tourist & Convention Commission received its awards last week during the Traverse Gala held at the Seelbach Hilton Louisville as part of the 2013 Kentucky Travel Industry Annual Conference.
Kentucky travel and tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for awards in 21 separate categories during the annual competition produced by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association.
A panel of out-of-state experts judged entries from across the state for this year’s presentation of awards. Each entry is judged for concept, creativity, design and how well it relates to its audience.
The Kentucky Travel Industry Association is a Frankfort-based state association that represents every segment of Kentucky’s tourism industry. The 950-member Association offers continuing education programs, works in the area of governmental relations, produces four statewide travel conferences each year and provides legislative advocacy for Kentucky’s travel industry.
